My greetings to all the fellow readers out there. In this post I would be
telling you how use your pen drive as your system Virtual RAM. To do so,
carefully follow the steps listed below-
STEPS FOR WINDOWS XP
1. First insert the Pen Drive at least having a free memory of 1 GB,(preferably 4GB) in the given USB port of the Computer.
2. Wait for the Pen Drive detection and see whether it is detected or not.
3. After detection of the Pen Drive you should do the following things carefully.
4. Now go to My Computer and right click it, then go to properties.
5. Now go to Advanced system settings and then to the Performance settings.
6. Under performance settings go to advanced and then go to change.
7. In Change, select the Pen Drive which you had inserted.
Then Click on Custom size and "check the value of space available".
8. Please enter the same in the initial and maximum columns also.
9. Now your Pen Drive space is used for the System Virtual Memory, Just Restart and Enjoy The Faster and Furious PC/laptop.
Readers please note that using your Pen Drive as Virtual Memory doesn't effect or harms your system, but it might cause damage to your USB flash drive. 2. Format it.
3. Right click on the pen drive icon.
4. Select ‘properties’.
6. Click “use
this device”.
7.Now select the maximum space that RAM can
give to the computer.
8.Click 'apply'
and 'OK'.
This is how you can use your USB as RAM. This results in the improvement in
